Ryan Ortega propelled Miami Palmetto to a 3-1 record and their second consecutive appearance in a Florida League High School Invitational Championship Game. In the three games Miami Palmetto won, the Tusculum commit was responsible for nearly half of his team's runs (8). The one game he didn't produce any runs was in the Championship against Braddock who wisely pitched around him (2 walks). Ortega had three multi-hit games for a total of 6 hits (tied for second). Daniel Bravo, an FIU commit, dominated opposing hitters and was a critical part of Braddock's Championship run at this year's High School Invitational. In his first appearance, Bravo came in to close a tight one run game in Braddock's first game of the week vs IMG Silver. In that game, he faced the top of IMG's order and retired them in order for a save. On Thursday, Bravo was called on to start against Deltona and he was nearly perfect. Bravo took a perfect game until the final batter of the game who broke up Bravo's bid with history with a base hit. He immediately retired the next batter to finish off his complete game shutout with 7ks and no walks. In 8 innings of work on the week, he faced only 25 batters which is one over the minimum.
