Most Valuable Player - Nick Barron (IMG GRAY)
When he was pitched to, Nick Barron abused every baseball he was able to hit in the 4 games he played this week. The uncommitted Junior batted .500 on the week and led the tournament in hits (8-16) and RBI's (9). He had two walks and never struck out. The outs that he did make were on very hard hit balls. He saved his best hit for the last at-bat of the tournament. In the Championship game he came to bat in the bottom of the 7th inning with his team trailing Tampa Prep 5-4 and the bases. What happened next felt like destiny. Barron smashed a game winning double to the wall giving IMG their first Florida League High School Invitational Championship.
Most Valuable Pitcher - Chayce Kieck (BOLLES)
In a week that featured several dominant pitching performances, Chayce Kieck stood out against a tough IMG Royal team that scored 16 runs in the games that they didn't face Kieck. The Clemson commit pitched an 8-inning complete game shutout allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 10 IMG batters. When his game went to an extra inning international tiebreaker, he was able to strand the runner on the bases allowing Bolles the opportunity to walk it off in the bottom half of the inning.
