Most Valuable Player - Alan Hernandez (West Boca)
Winning teams need winning players, and Alan Hernandez stepped up when West Boca needed to win. The Caldwell commit and West Boca's four-hole hitter "cleaned up" producing nearly a third (8) of his team's 28 runs on the week. On the week Hernandez was second in hits (.417, 5-12), second in runs scored (4) and third in RBI's (4). He also reached two more times on walks. Twice he scored the winning run for his team, first when his team walked off Lyman and then in the Championship Game against Bishop Moore.
Most Valuable Pitcher - Jalen Foxx (Lyman)
Jalen Foxx becomes just the third player to repeat as an MVP in the Florida League High School Invitationals, and the second to do it one year as a player and the next year as a pitcher. The previous player to achieve this unique feat was Logan Allen who is now a big-leaguer with the Cleveland Guardians. Foxx, a University of South Carolina commit, fired a no-hitter against Horizon. He was dominant, striking out 12 Horizon hitters. The no-hitter did not come easy though as he allowed 5 baserunners via walk or hit by pitch. He was able to escape several jams and still keep Horizon's hitters puzzled.
