Matthew Dickey is now a 2x Florida League High School Invitational Most Valuable Player, a feat that no one has achieved in 11 years of the event's existence. In 4 games, Dickey had an astounding .700 average on the week including 2 home runs, 2, triples, 2 doubles, 6 walks, 2 stolen bases and 8 RBI's. His OPS was 2.713. Dickey had at least one extra base hit in each game and led the powerful North Florida Christian offense to the Championship game. To say he likes hitting at Historic Sanford Memorial Stadium is an understatement. In two tournaments (8 games), he is 18-25 (.720 AVG) with 3 home runs, 6 doubles, 2 triples and 12 RBI's.

Ben Gaul - University
Ben Gaul led the University Titans to their first Florida League High School Invitational Championship in four tries. Gaul first got the call on Monday against South Fork, and he shut the Bulldogs offense down. Over 6 innings in that start, Gaul scattered 6 hits while allowing 1 run on no walks and striking out 3. On Friday in the Championship game, Gaul was summoned from the bullpen to get the Titans out of a bases loaded jam in the 4th with the game tied and 1 out. He retired the side and then continued to hold the high powered North Florida Christian offense to only 1 hit over the final 3 innings to earn the win for the Titans. In two appearances he pitched 9.2 innings, walked two, struck out 3 and only allowed one run.
